Cables used in the oil and gas industry are required to withstand a number of environmental vectors; from ablation by mechanical and thermal stresses, immersion in saltwater or hydrocarbon saturated mud, contact with oils, acids and other chemicals, through to exposure to ultraviolet light.

Cleveland Cable Company’s range of oil and gas industry cables are designed and engineered to withstand such vectors whilst providing high reliability in operations as diverse as offshore drilling platforms, floating production storage and offloading installations, and onshore terminals and plants. The range includes low and medium voltage power cables, control and data cables, and fire resistant LSZH cables for critical instrumentation (compliant with British Standard BS5308). Specialist construction options include lead or lead equivalent sheathing and mica glass tape flame retardant insulation.
