Sustainability

Cable waste is one of the largest dedicated waste streams in the UK and has the potential to become the most efficient industry in waste management, due to the high proportion of recyclables in cables. Cleveland Cable Company is dedicated to maintaining environmentally sustainable practices across all our branches, and proudly report a 97% recycling rate.

Our core green practices are:

• Waste Recycling – we take steps to recycle waste by stripping products into core components for recycling.
• Repair and Reuse – we offer a free collection service for used drums which are inspected and repaired to increase lifespan
• Smart Energy – optimising the efficiency of lighting and heating in our offices with plans to implement solar energy in our offices and warehouses
• Electric Vehicles – electric vehicles and ports are available at every branch
• Energy Efficient Transport – route planning software calculates the most efficient route for deliveries

We work towards net zero in line with Government 2030 and 2050 targets and release an annual SECR report to reflect this goal. We aim to take key steps towards producing accurate embodied carbon reports with ‘gate-to-gate’ calculations. This is part of a 5-year plan to gather, analyse and report all carbon equivalents used in our section of transaction.
