PVC Cable Trunking

Cleveland Cable Company is one of the UK's largest suppliers of PVC cable trunking. Cable trunking is a versatile cable management solution that organises, protects, and conceals electrical wires. Made from lightweight, durable unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, this trunking is widely used for surface mounting and containment of low-voltage cabling in both residential and commercial environments.
It provides a clean, professional finish to electrical installations, keeping cables out
of sight and safe from damage. The primary types of trunking that Cleveland Cable Company
supplies are PVC-U Perimeter Trunking, Mini Trunking, Cable Trunking and Conduit.
Why Is PVC Trunking Important?
Safety
Prevents tangled or exposed wires, which can pose tripping hazards, fire risks, or look unsightly. Whilst PVC-U is non-flame propagating, under an applied flame the flame does not propagate and will extinguish itself once the flame is removed. It does not drop flaming particles in the event of a fire.
The material will melt, therefore all trunking should be installed with metallic fire safety clips that will continue to support the enclosed cables in the event of a fire.
Organisation
Encasing electrical cables makes spaces safer and prolongs the life of your wiring by shielding it from physical damage, dust, and moisture.
Aesthetics
Improves the overall appearance of installations and is available in several colour options and foiled woodgrain finishes.
Compliance
Meets regulatory and safety requirements for wiring installations.

Mini Trunking: Best for Small Spaces
Mini trunking is a compact protection solution ideal for hiding a small number of wires, such as power, telephone or data cables, on walls and ceilings. Its slim, low-profile design is perfect for homes, offices, and apartments where space is at a premium and discreet installation is key.
We stock a range of Falcon mini trunking in various sizes, all available in 3-metre lengths.
- 3-metre lengths (other lengths available on request, subject to MOQ).
- Product types include standard and self-adhesive formats. Available accessory options include external couplers, surface box adaptors, external angles, internal angles, flat angles, flat tees, stop ends and fire safety clips.
- Whilst the bond created by the self-adhesive tape can be very strong, maximum adhesion only occurs after 24 hours. Ensure the mounting surface is dust-free, dry, clean and flat. Uneven surface contact or installation below 5°C will reduce bonding performance.
- As none of the above conditions can be controlled by Cleveland Cable Company, we recommend supplementary mechanical fixing in addition to the self-adhesive tape.
PVC Conduit
PVC conduit is frequently used in domestic, commercial and light industrial environments, including walls, ceilings, floors and surface-mounted installations. It is self-extinguishing and compliant with UK and European fire safety standards.
Ideal for indoor applications where impact protection is required. We stock a range of brands and accessories, including Bendex, Marshall Tufflex and Falcon.
- Available in 20mm – 32mm
- Product types include 4-way boxes, accessories, inspection accessories, connectors, angle boxes, end boxes, bends, conduit, conduit clips, saddles, tee boxes and through boxes
- Available in black or white
Factors to Consider When Selecting Trunking
- Capacity: Ensure the cross-sectional area of the selected trunking is sufficient to accommodate both current and future cable requirements.
- Style: Consider aesthetics where trunking will be visible, with options ranging from plain white to coloured and decorative finishes.
- Environment: Whilst PVC-U is impervious to damp and will not corrode, it does not carry an IP rating for water. It should not be installed where water ingress is possible and is for internal use only.
- PVC-U has an operating temperature range of -5°C to +60°C and should not be installed where this range may be exceeded or maintained at the upper limit for prolonged periods.
- Ease of Access: If frequent access is required, choose trunking with easy-to-remove covers. Lids are designed to prevent accidental removal and must be removed from a terminated end.
Installation Made Simple
Carefully plan the route to avoid obstacles and sharp bends. Measure required lengths accurately and cut the trunking using a saw or dedicated trunking cutter for a clean finish.
Secure the trunking base using screws, wall plugs or strong adhesive strips (see guidance on self-adhesive tape and fire safety clips), ensuring it is firmly fixed. Lay cables neatly inside without excessive bending or pressure, then snap the lid into place until it clicks securely along its length.
Complete a final inspection to ensure the installation is secure and visually tidy.
