Description

Belden 8791 equivalent cable is a 3-Core 18 AWG Screened Instrumentation Cable. It features three 18 AWG stranded tinned copper conductors with Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) insulation for low-voltage signals and control applications. To mitigate electromagnetic interference (EMI) in congested electrical enclosures, the conductors are protected by an overall tinned copper spiral wrapped shield providing 80% coverage.

The cable is engineered for internal installations and dry environments, operating efficiently within a standard voltage rating of 450V and a temperature range of -30°C to +75°C, extending up to 80°C in stationary setups. The cable has a bending radius of 66mm and for proper installation, the cable must be handled carefully, with the flexible tinned copper spiral shield correctly terminated inside electrical enclosures or control panels to block EMI.

These cables are suited for installation in internal, dry environments only where there is no risk of moisture or atmospheric exposure. To maintain signal integrity, the cable should be routed away from power circuits.
