Heavy Duty V75 Flexible Cord 0.6/1kV Cable - 0.50mm² to 4mm²
Description
Heavy Duty V75 PVC Flexible Cords are robust, high-stress electrical supply cables rated at 0.6/1kV, designed to deliver heavy-duty power performance across demanding domestic, commercial, and industrial installations. This range features plain annealed flexible stranded copper conductors built to handle continuous movement and vibration, insulated with a heavy wall of V-75 Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) compound and encased in an extra-tough 4V-75 PVC outer protective jacket. Engineered for a continuous operating temperature threshold of up to 75°C, these heavy-duty cords are manufactured in multicore configurations ranging from single core up to 5-core varieties, regularly incorporating a green/yellow earth path for grounding safety. The entire structural range is manufactured in strict compliance with the core provisions and test protocols established under AS/NZS 3191 and AS/NZS 1125 standards.
These cables are suited for installation in demanding internal environments, as well as sheltered or conduit-protected areas where severe mechanical stress, regular handling, and structural friction are common. Due to their heavy-duty sheathing profile, they offer an exceptional degree of protection compared to light or ordinary alternatives, making them ideal for high-stress applications such as heavy commercial workshop machinery, construction site leads, plant machinery, and industrial kitchen appliances. The reinforced 4V-75 PVC outer sheath is formulated to endure standard abrasion and repeated physical impact, though for permanent underground mining applications or fully unprotected extreme weather exposure, specialized heavy rubber variants should be utilized.
For safe installation, the cable must be managed carefully to ensure proper structural distribution during dynamic bending, maintaining a strict minimum bending radius of six times the overall cable diameter. Installers must utilize heavy-duty cord grip fittings, structural glands, or industrial protective bushings whenever routing the wire through entry ports into distribution enclosures or heavy machinery frames to mitigate chafing risks. Because these cords are rated at a higher 0.6/1kV threshold, standard wiring regulations allow them to be used as installation wiring if properly fixed and supported. However, when used as standard flexible cords, they remain restricted to portable equipment connections or temporary machinery hookups, and must never serve as a permanent replacement for the fixed concealed core structural wiring of a building
