Description

NGED Approved Copper MDPE Triplex 6.35/11 (12)kV cable is a medium voltage utility power line constructed with Class 2 rigid stranded circular compacted plain copper conductors, cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, a metal screen of concentric copper wires with helical tape, and a robust red medium density polyethylene (MDPE) outer sheath twisted together in a triplex formation. This highly durable cable is purpose-built for installation in the National Grid Electricity Distribution network (NGED), making it ideal for utility power distribution, substation connections, renewable energy infrastructure, and underground direct burial or ducting systems.

The Cables are manufactured to BS 7870-4.10 for distribution network operator polymeric insulated cables, alongside material quality benchmarks BS EN/IEC 60228 for rigid conductor properties and G81 approval for new utility connections. Featuring a standard rated voltage of 6.35/11kV, this cable provides dependable, safe power distribution across the electrical grid while meeting all UK power distribution network standards.

The cable should be installed with a minimum bending radius of 12 times the overall cable diameter during handling and routing. It is designed to operate within a core temperature range of 0°C to +90°C.
