What Does BS6622 Cover?
BS6622 cables are armoured power cables designed for medium voltage applications, typically from 3.8/6.6 (7.2)kV up to 19/33 (36)kV. They are suitable for fixed installations across electricity distribution networks, power stations and industrial applications, including indoor, outdoor, underground and cable duct installations.
These cables are available with stranded copper or aluminium conductors, XLPE insulation, metallic screening, wire armour and a durable outer sheath. The selected conductor, armour and sheath construction will depend on the voltage rating, installation environment and power network requirements.
BS6622 Key Features
